Hydroponic Nutrient solution "How To"

The Nutrient solution can be made from various salts and trace elements! Also often reffered to as Macro and Micro nutrients. And according to the name they are used in large or small quantities.
You will want to obtain the cleanest purest ingredients for the best results and for the health of your plants.
The salts are common house hold chemicals from the olden days. You may remember you mom soaking her feet in Epsom salts. Well you can use Epsom salts as one of the ingredients for you nutrient solution. We will use the purest chemical we can find. This means is has the least if any other impurities. You may even look at the process they are porduced to find the cleanest process and to be sure you don’t get indirect contamination from cheap low grade chemicals. You can make a mixture for you plants and and then feed them only one time. Them system will circulate the water and they will be fine until you harvest them. If you see they are wilting or looking week you can add a small amont of nutrient. I will discuss more about the nutrient in my next update!

What is in the hydroponic nutrient mixture?

The nutrient solution for growing plants is very important, if you have to much of one nutrient or two little of another this will cause problems. Two much of one nutrient can stop the absorption of another and not enough of one will possibly halt growth. So you need to have good nutrient solutin. A normal soil fertilizer for example a 10-10-10 mix of N-K-P, nitrogen potassium and phosphorus, is missing many other nutrient. Plant need many things to grow and this is what is in the soil. Just like you can like taking vitamin A,B,C you need other micro nutrients. Small quantites of essential chemical tham make youbody produce the right protient and enzymes for your own power. Plants too requirethis perfect mixture when grown in hydroponic. So we start with soil fertilizer. It is NO GOOD for hydroponic growing. Because the 10-10-10 mixture. Is really 10%-10%-10% and it contains 70% JUNK FILLERS. This filler will clog up a circulation system and the chemical you desire may not even dissolve in water. This is land based application only fertilizer. The 70% Junk can cause grave damage to your plants by poisoning them. You need to find a perfect clean source of food for you hydroponic grown plants. This is a mixture of the nutrents for the specific plants. Each plant can require a different formula and its only throw testing that you can find what it best.

I am growing my first set of hydroponic vegetables. I have red oak and green oak leaf lettuce growing. Currently I have place for 84 plants in my growing system and they are all doing well, except the one at the water drain. Just happened to be over the down spout return for the nutrient and it never got wet. Died the second day! So I have 83 plants. I also switched out at the last minute a few of the lettuce for Kale and and a few other plant I was given from the Hydroponic farm. So when you think of planting in water you wonder how do the plants get their nutrients. Well like humans on a liquid diet you are fine as long as you get all the essential nutrient and vitmanis required for life. This is what the soil normally provides for the plants. But in our situation the soil is not being used so we must add the nutrient into the water for the plants to be healthy.
